The seed idea for Phoebe Sounds it Out sprouted when I was a freshman in university. I was taking Greek mythology course and the professor was drawing a family tree of gods/goddesses on the board. When he spoke about the grandmother of Apollo and Artemis, I was so embarrassed. I had seen the name in writing but had never heard it said aloud before. Always thought it was pronounced "foh'-eeb."
Years later, a title came into my head: "They Told Phoebe to Sound it Out." And the story just spilled out.
