Julie Zwillich was raised in Denver, CO, where the mountains are beautiful, and Hershey, PA, where the air smells like chocolate. After studying film at McGill University she immigrated to Canada, where people know how to drive in winter. She’s currently working on more books for the Phoebe series as well as a middle-grade novel.

When she's not writing books, Julie hosts and writes television programs. She’s best known for her shows on Food Network (Summer’s Best), CBC (Surprise! It’s Edible Incredible!), TSN (SWEAT) and TVOKids. She also does animation voices (Beyblade, The Blobs) and long-form commercials (KitchenAid).

I was taking Greek mythology course and the professor was drawing a family tree of gods/goddesses on the board. When he spoke about the grandmother of Apollo and Artemis, I was so embarrassed. I had seen the name in writing but had never heard it said aloud before. Always thought it was pronounced "foh'-eeb."

Years later, a title came into my head: "They Told Phoebe to Sound it Out." And the story just spilled out.
