Once you have written a book or short story and it has been published it is there for the world. If someone likes it, that is the best thing.

It's important to write on a regular basis. Your ideas don't necessarily cooperate with that schedule, but if you note them down and keep them in one place, they will help inspire your moment when you sit down with pen in hand. Keep writing.

A number of books have been written about Xenia Ohio's local Indian history. One legend included a treasure that the Indians buried near the town before they evacuated the area. This story shows how an eleven-year-old deals with the prospect of finding such a treasure.

Read, read, read. I'm talking about books by authors you admire. There are craft books on writing and you can learn a great deal from them but by reading an author's work you learn so much and are more entertained. My most influential reads have been The Catcher in the Rye, by JD Salinger and the series, Childhood, Boyhood and Youth by Leo Tolstoy.

My third book. It will be the final book in the Jesse Hall series, Searching for Family. Usually, I follow my story chronologically but on this one, which is yet to be titled, is being written based on Jesse's key experiences. I have the first chapter nearly done, and the last few chapters complete.

Research. Investigate the era, the character, the place with the idea that you will use the information in your book. Writer's block does not have to be an unproductive condition. It is always temporary.
