I haven't experienced it is a really serious way, but the few minor times that I have, I just walk walk away and try not to force it. I work on other projects, and just take my mind off it, and it usually is rolling around in there until I get another idea.

Oh my gosh! There are so many things! One, the feeling of accomplishment! It is great feeling to see it through to fruition! To actually hold a real book in your hands with your name on it! Two, to have someone tell you they enjoyed it! Three, to know that you put a smile on someones face! Four, to touch someone in some way by something that you wrote is amazing!

Just do it! Don't make up excuses. Uninterrupted time is best, but even if you only have 5 minutes to make notes, or do some research, do it. Don't let fear that you won't finish, or fear of rejection stop you. With the resources available now, you have no legitimate excuse not to do it!

As I was promoting "Things He Hadn't Told Her", I began the leg work for my second novel "Sarah's Song". It was set in the 40's in East Tennessee, and
I was relying greatly on my dad's memories of his childhood and way of life. However, before I got started on it, my dad started to lose his battle with cancer, but we talked about it a lot, and I took notes. Not as many as I had hoped to get, but enough to start. Unfortunately my dad passed before I got it officially started, and I regret he never got to see it in print. but I felt his presence every step of the way, from start to finish. I hope I did him proud with it! Now, due to requests, I am considering a sequel to Sarah's Song soon, but am diligently trying to promote both my books, in order to be able to write the third!

I have always wanted to write, and have started books a couple of times, but other things that deemed more important always cropped up, and my dreams ended up on the back burner. My husband finally inspired me to start again, and so I did. I worked on "Things He Hadn't Told Her" 15 minutes here, 5 minutes there, off and on, in between work and everything else. Then my father was diagnosed with cancer. I had already lost my little brother (24 years old) so, even though he was going through treatments, and was fighting valiantly, I felt like I HAD to do whatever I needed to do , to get my book published and presented to my dad, in case the worst happened. I decided to forego the typical book publishing route, searching for an agent and publisher, by sending out query letters, and waiting & hoping, while time passed, and instead worked through learning how to format my book into an ebook. At least then I could show my dad I'd done it! He was ONE of the people who had faith that I could do it. I wanted to show him, he was right!
Then I discovered I could actually have a print book to present him! So I went to work formatting for that. As soon as possible I ordered a copy to HAND him. By this time, he was losing his battle with cancer, and had been sent home with help from Hospice. He asked me to read my book to him, and I started getting through the prologue and first chapter, a few paragraphs at a time. I went to see him and read some more one day, but was met with the most unexpected news when I arrived. My dad had complications, and passed 5 minutes before I got there.

I honestly can't remember. I started ideas for "Sarah's Song" about 10 years ago, but life, my dad's health problems, and my husbands health problems, had too much on my plate to pursue it until recently.
