I don't really know. I sat down to write a short story, and PRISCILLA ALONE was the result. As an Amercian Civil War reenactor and living historian, I know quite a lot about what was expected of women of the era.

That's a question I'm frequently asked, and usually don't know how to answer. I write what comes to mind. Unlike many authors, I don't have an written outline for my stories. My characters "speak" to me and frequently lead me into the next scene. Sometimes I do have to rein them in, and force them to go a new direction, but most often, they know what they're about and do a credible job of sending me, and my readers, down the correct path.

My current work in progress is a sequel to PRISCILLA ALONE. The working title is TOGETHER ALONE and follows Priscilla and Elizabeth as they leave Corpus Christi. I anticipate publication in 2018.

No set hours. If the urge to write hits at 2 a.m., I can fire up the computer and write.
No office to go to. While I do have a place in my home where I generally write, it's nice to work outside in the backyard gazebo, in a restaurant or coffee shop, on the beach, wherever I happen to be. One of my favorite places to write is Panera Bread.
While I love dressing up, I don't have to. There is no dress code for writers.

Sometimes it's best to just walk away from the computer and do something else. It problem that is nagging you is put to the back of your mind. While in the middle of doing dishes, or folding sheets, the solution will come to you.
