Oh, it's just what we call the large book publishers to differentiate them from self publishers. Some people call them "traditional/mainstream", and some people call the self publishers "indie", but those terms are not favored because they imply a rivalry between the two. But all routes to publication are equally valid.

Hi Rosalie! There's always been a few back home, but now where I live I only get to see the strays on my way to work, and I have to stop and pet them. Animals can be your best friends in the world! And it shows through in the story.

I really wanted to tell a story about loss and denial, and about what our minds can do after a tragedy. We keep with us not only the memory of loved ones, but also the tangible things that remind us of them, and sometimes it's enough to make us feel that they aren't really gone. Of course, I love cats and the joy they bring to our lives, and I wanted to highlight that in this novel.
