Just updating. The next book in the series is currently up for review on Kindle Scout. Its a full length book and called "Guarding the Legacy." You can go to this link and see a preview if you like. https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/3JFS. It should be published in a couple of months.
Here is an excerpt: “The fear and anxiety that had made its appearance along with that mysterious letter sat heavily upon him, but sometime during the long night something changed. Ben McNaughton got angry! The ranch might be the physical manifestation of the legacy passed down to him by his ancestors, but his children were the embodiment of that legacy. And like his forbearers who had fought tooth and nail to protect what was theirs, Ben vowed that he would be damned if some wannabe mobster was going to threaten his family and get away with it.”

When I started actually putting my stories on paper, I never intended for anyone else in the world to see them. Writing them down was just a way to pass the time and I soon discovered that it was a lot of fun. Eventually, when I had enough written, I shared with my husband and he was not scandalized with the "strange" workings of my mind as I supposed everyone would be. In fact, he enjoyed the story, so I was "inspired" to continue.

Several people have asked me this question and the answer is not as easy as you might think. I have always had stories floating around in my head. When I had down-time or couldn't sleep, they would come along to keep me company. The McNaughton family, who only recently got a name thanks to my Scottish ancestors, have been the most persistent. When my husband and I retired we moved to Leon County which is much more rural than where we came from. The rolling hills and open spaces just made a perfect place for my McNaughtons to live.
