If given the opportunity, would you want the Sanctuary series to be made into a film?
Caryn Lix That would be amazing! I always view these things in my head when I’m writing so it would be awesome to see how someone else’s vision meshed with mine :)

Will you continue writing in the world of Sanctuary with a new series?
Caryn Lix Hi Felicia! Unfortunately, the Sanctuary series is finished with book 3. But I am working on some other projects!

I LOVED Sanctuary and was so blown away by how tightly plotted the story was. I'm curious what your writing and revision process was like. How long (and how many drafts) did it take you to get your plot nailed down?
Caryn Lix I’m so sorry not to have seen this!!!!! It took about a year of solid work.

Are you working on another series? and if so when do you plan on releasing it.
Caryn Lix At the moment I’m editing Salvation but I definitely have something else in the works. Nothing is scheduled for publication at this time though.

What authors are your biggest literary influences and what have you learnt from them?
Caryn Lix There are so so many! Every time I read something new, I love it and absorb a bit of it and it makes its way into my work.

When I was a kid I read C. S. Lewis, Diana Wynne Jones, and Christopher Pike incessantly. Christopher Pike and Stephen King influenced me a lot in terms of writing horror. I think Christopher Pike is pretty underrated. He has a tremendous sense of pacing and plot twists.

Otherwise, it's hard for me to name a single influence, because I really do think everything I read makes its way into my writing eventually. Thanks for asking! :D

What inspired you to write Sanctuary and what do you hope readers will take away from the book once they've finished reading it?
Caryn Lix Sanctuary was born out of my love of science fiction and action! I started with an image of a space prison and went from there. I hope readers enjoy it and take away memories of a good time and a fun story, and also maybe that they think a little bit about how they view people who are different!
