God promises to answer our prayers. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." says Matthew 7:7. It doesn't qualify that promise with, "only if you are coherent," or "only if you do mostly good things."
Romans 8:26 says, "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." That puts me at ease, because sometimes I just don't know how to pray. God takes our inadequate prayers, knows what we mean and what we desire, and answers, even if it's not in the way we expect or want.
God wants us to come to Him when we're broken; that way, He can heal us. He can't heal us unless we're willing to be healed by Him.

I can't presume to know why your mother died. Only God knows. I'm so sorry that it did happen, and all we can do is trust Him that He's got this under control.

Simply, because God tells us to. While the Bible tells us to honor our father and mother, they will make mistakes. God is perfect; when we emulate Him, we will be perfect. (Only in Heaven, but we can at least try on Earth) When we walk in the footsteps of God, and obey Him, those around us will see Christ in us. God calls us to be a light; if we're following the flawed ways of man, we won't be shining Christ's light for everyone to see.

No one can say why any specific bad things happen in our lives. The broad answer, though, is sin. This is a fallen world, and it's progressively grown worse since the original sin. (6,000 years is a long time to grow sin!) God did not cause sin; He allowed it to happen, because he let humans have free will. Pain and suffering is a result of sin.
But because God is so good, He works our pain and suffering to our good. He cares for us. He doesn't let us have more than we can handle. And, best of all, we can let Him have all that pain and suffering. He knows what we're going through--after all, that's what he did on the cross!

Well, thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I haven't been planning on publishing it, but I may in the future. I'll pray about it and seek additional advice.

I think my main piece of advice is to learn. Learn all you can about random facts, learn about how things work, learn how people think and act, etc. The more knowledge you have about certain things, the more details you can include in a novel, even if it's just one simple sentence. It makes your characters more believable, and, in my experience, never fails to provide you with story ideas.

I was born after the turn of the century, but before 9/11.
Yay for being homeschooled and a Christian! :)

I'll go with a humor horror story: The mainstream media melted when a pot of water was thrown on them. The perpetrator, who the FBI believes is President Trump, is still on the loose.

Since I enjoy reading much more than watching movies, I shall choose the former. I don't really trust movies to be accurate when it's about something real.

I know of two fictional book worlds: Narnia and NuWorld, in Gilbert Morris' Seven Sleepers series. I would rather travel to neither of those places, thank you very much.

I haven't exactly planned many, since my Summer Reading hasn't started yet. However, I do think I'll be reading some Janette Oke books, maybe some Gilbert Morris books, and The Beekeeper's Apprentice, which I've had since Christmas and haven't had a chance to read.

That's a really interesting question, since I deal with writing real-life mysteries, or any interesting story, in my great-grandmother's life! I confess my life isn't very interesting, much less mysterious, but when our memory fails, my family spends quite a bit of time wondering when we went to that Gold City concert, or why we were at ToysRUs one time.

Why, yes! I'm starting to write Heritage Diaries book #2 at the moment, and I have plans for many future ones!

Um... my favorite recent couple that I read about was Norman and Jenelle Mavrich from the book Unbroken by Rebekah Morris.

Nothing official, but I often write random short stories. I print them out, put them in a doll size, and give them to my sisters for Christmas.

The idea for The NewDiary was actually originally my mom's idea; I had to write a novel for my freshman year of highschool, and my mom told me about my great-grandmother's diaries. I obtained them, and worked through the earliest one. It was a lot of fun, but also pretty hard!
