Hanna Kraft Simply, because God tells us to. While the Bible tells us to honor our father and mother, they will make mistakes. God is perfect; when we emulate Him, we will be perfect. (Only in Heaven, but we can at least try on Earth) When we walk in the footsteps of God, and obey Him, those around us will see Christ in us. God calls us to be a light; if we're following the flawed ways of man, we won't be shining Christ's light for everyone to see.
