If I got paid even a single cent, I might call it a job. I guess I'm Bigfoot--leaving my footprints everywhere, with nary a single hint anywhere else.

I didn't read as a middle schooler, or nothing that amounted to anything.
I have dyslexia, and only truly learned how to READ when I was 13. Everything else was, funnily enough, all guesses on multiple choice.

Send me a message and I'll send you the beta for the fully re-written trilogy.
Bradley Horner
Good question. I re-wrote it, then tried to get it trad published, and now it's in limbo.
Bradley Horner
Who knows? Ideas are strange that way. They're viruses.
Bradley Horner
3 hours a day writing, then the rest is reading. I keep a tight schedule.
Bradley Horner
Nothing. I love having a well-ordered life. Stories should always be about conflict and that's where it should remain.

I unpublished them a while ago to re-work them and feather them into brand new works. I'm currently sitting on a huge mosaic of tales but I'm so introverted and annoyed with the publishing industry in general that getting them out there seems almost impossible.
Yes, I could use Kindle again, but without any kind of advertising campaign or support, it'll still be doomed to obscurity. It's frustrating. Therefore, I just keep writing and make it the best I can make it.

Way too long. Maybe if I get rich, I might re-visit.

I do read fast and I have great concentration, but my superpower is audiobooks or text-to-speech and having an earbud in my ear. Oh, and 2x speed. :)
Bradley Horner
Nope, just born there. :)
Bradley Horner
Roughly? 40's and 50's. It depends on how short they are because my rate of reading is about the same.
But thank you, too! I'm glad I'm not just doing this for myself. :)

I wish, lol. I just love books and hunt for all the books that seem good and give them a gander. My only spell is Concentration. :)

Which and how many questions should I answer? *flips a coin*
I had to sacrifice a whole head of hair to be able to read as much as I do now.
As for motivation, I have dyslexia. When I eventually learned how to read, shortly after I turned thirteen, I used the frustration and mortification as a fuel to drive me forward in an impossible quest to defeat my shortcomings.
As a result, good stories meant a lot more to me precisely because they were harder won.
Ever since then, I read for either ideas or the emotional effect that I can get from the writing. Some books do either better than others, of course, but I can usually always find SOMETHING to admire in anything I read. It might not be much, but most books usually do one thing well.
If I don't precisely enjoy the book, I can usually learn from it. Like an object lesson. :)

(view spoiler)[How can we leverage your ratings to find the best books you've read if you rate every other book 5 stars? (hide spoiler)]
Bradley Horner
Star ratings are silly when you've read the numbers of books I have. Imagine rating 5,000 books on a curve, if you will. It would look like I think most books are meh at 3 stars, when in reality, I still have a very good time. A star rating becomes nearly meaningless when there are a lot of nuances and you have read a very wide range of books. Can you really compare the full volumes of Ed Gibbon's History of the Fall of the Roman Empire with JRRT's Lord of the Rings? Both are excellent, but they come from wildly divergent sources and purposes.
Fortunately, I have found a foolproof workaround. If you want to know what I REALLY think about a book, then I invite you to read my review for it. I explain my real feelings there.
Oh! And I also have cheat-shelves. My Fanboy-goes-squee shelf is my unofficial 6th-star rating. And I have Top 100 and Top 10 shelves, as well.

I welcome personal messages with requests, but I don't promise anything. :)

Vandermeer, of course. But I definitely put Cat Valente, Scott Hawkins, Scott Hale, and myself in this category. :)
Bradley Horner
I think I prefer to write about physics more than anything, but I'm quite competent in talking about psychology, sociology, literary criticism, and history. Or if not competent, quite comfortable. :)

Arrakis. I would find sandtrout and make a stillsuit out of them.

This morning, I awoke to find a single pink, size 2 baby shoe in my bed. I live alone with my cat.
