Bill Myers Hi Angela. You're reading my mind. That's exactly what I want to do. Someday. Right now I'm focusing on my four-part series, Rendezvous with God (part two will be out late August). Hopefully, we'll get back to it some time. Thanks for asking!
Bill Myers Hi Jonathan. Not sure if I answered this year-old question of yours (sorry). I'd love to continue Wally either as film (we turned Universal down 2-3 times because we knew they'd just sit on it) or as a graphic novel (I was at Comicon a couple weeks back and saw such tremendous possibilities. I asked the publisher, now it's a matter of waiting and seeing. (By the way there's just a little bit of Wally as a grownup in my Rendezvous with God series. Poor guy).
Bill Myers I've never written to be successful. Last thing on my mind. I wanted to be a dentist. Ha! I write so folks can experience the peace and joy of being friends with a Creator who loves them so much He died so they can be together.
Bill Myers Thanks, Amy. My latest (and I think my best) came out last year and is "Rendezvous with God - Volume One" where a contemporary man keeps slipping back into the first century to have off-the-record conversations with Jesus. Volume Two, "Temptation" will be out in a few weeks. Thanks again!
Bill Myers Thanks, Carol. As far as genetic manipulation, the answer is yes and no. Blood of Heaven is the first of the Fire of Heaven trilogy. The second book, Threshold, will appear unrelated ... until the last book, Fire of Heaven (one of my favorites), brings the little boy with Coleman's genes face to face with the couple from Threshold. But does Fire of Heaven deal much with genetics? Not really; lots of other stuff, though. Thanks for asking!
Bill Myers Hi Desi, sorry for getting back to you so late. Actually, that's another Bill Myers who wrote Mango Bob. (We get each other's mail from time to time).
Bill Myers Hi Kathy:
Of course. Or through my website www.billmyers.com As far as true experiences with the supernatural, you may want to look into a handbook I wrote titled, The Dark Side of the Supernatural (be sure to get the updated version) or a little e-book I wrote titled, Supernatural War. Both are accurate.
Bill Myers Great question, Cindy, and I would say it depends on the child. I try to stay within the limits of Biblical scariness, but there are definitely portions of even Scripture that are too intense for children. (Besides the Old Testament violence I'm thinking more of the demoniac who comes from the graveyard to meet Jesus). So... I'd error on the safe side and pass on that particular book. I'm sure it's nothing the "average" child of today hasn't been exposed to in the world, but why not be a safe haven for them, instead. That said, I'd strongly recommend the "My Life as..." series. It's goofy, fun and each book has a clear message. Then there's my favorite, "Imager Chronicles" like Narnia but a bit deeper. There are sample chapters at www.billmyers.com. Hope that helps and thanks for being such a vigilant parent!
Bill Myers Hi Kate.
Thanks for asking. Someday I hope to continue Forbidden Doors. As you may know from my adult novels, (Eli, Blood of Heaven, etc) I'm not crazy about tying everything up with a neat bow, but once we're sure the characters are on their feet and pointed the right direction like a good parent I let them go. Still, it's hard to say goodbye to them. Oh, and your English is great!
Bill Myers Hi Jack.
Great questions. Let's see... God loves me, Satan hates me. God wants to bless me, Satan wants to destroy me. Or as Jesus says, "The enemy wants to kill, steal, and destroy but He's come to give me life." Satan lies to seduce me. God has never lied and died for me. Satan is a short time thrill like cotton candy that tastes great but lasts a second while God is like a banquet that never ends. Then, of course there's that whole ending thing where Satan and his followers are thrown into the lake of fire to suffer for all eternity. I'd rather go with the winning team. And as far as art? I'd much rather look at the Pieta than porn. Listen to the Hallelujah Chorus than angry shriekers. Gaze at a Van Gogh than... well, you get the idea. Hope that helps. May God's arms of love wrap around and hold you. Bill
Bill Myers Hi Joy
Thanks for asking. Actually, I like writing for any age group (which makes people trying to market me crazy -- some readers only know me as a kid's guy, others only for adults). Genre? I just like to tell stories that haven't been told before. Fresh. Hopefully unique. (Probably my ADD showing). That often throws me in the supernatural pile (but without the horror) or quirky comedies like Child's Play. Whatever it is, I like to stir up people's thinking.
Bill Myers Hi Taylor. Yes. Angel of Wrath comes pretty close (it's a sequel to The Voice). And Threshold (2nd book in the Fire of Heaven Trilogy).
