I take a shower or a bath. Whenever I am stumped, or don't know how to move forward, I can always come up with an answer or solution during a shower/bath. It's the craziest thing, but works 90% of the time!

Easily, it is putting all of my day dreaming to good use. I have day dreamed my entire life, and actually being able to use it and create something from it has been really rewarding.

The idea struck me over 5 or 6 years ago when I stumbled across a door in a field off the side of the road. It was a free standing door that lead seemingly nowhere. Of course, I let my imagination run away one day and jotted down a note. Every time I passed it I developed the story a little more, until years later I actually created an outline. After that, I couldn't stop and ended up writing the book. I didn't even tell anyone I was writing till about 10 chapters in.

I am currently about half way through the first draft of the sequel to The Door Keeper! I took a hiatus over the holidays but am looking forward to getting back to work.
