Nicholas Kinsey I am completing my sixth novel entitled Kentucky Choirboy which will be coming out in January 2025. This is the fascinating story of a Confederate raider from his escape from Camp Douglas to the raid on St. Albans, the extradition trial in Montreal, and the pursuit of justice against the Ku Klux Klan for the ex-slave George Dinning.
Nicholas Kinsey I was recently rereading some Len Deighton books with the famous couple: Bernard and Fiona Sampson. I think Deighton did an extraordinary job describing the couple: Bernard, the field agent, and Fiona, the MI6 administrator who abandons family and friends to be a double agent working in Berlin for her boss Bret Renssalaer. I was particularly impressed by Deighton's character descriptions.

I am afraid I don't have a favourite couple in the novels I read, but the characters in Deighton's work are extremely well drawn.
Nicholas Kinsey I get excited by stories when the facts only reveal a portion of the truth. It is then I start to imagine what really happened behind the scenes and start to flesh out the details which then can become a book.
Nicholas Kinsey I was inspired by W. Hugh Thomas's book The Murder of Rudolf Hess and thought there was a real story behind the facts in the case. MI5 would have interrogated the man and quickly discovered that he was an imposter. It is very hard to hide your identity when you are a public figure as was Hess in Germany.
