Hope Hill Definitely Sci Fi, Fantasy, YA, NA and a few silly beach reads other than that whatever looks good. I think I'll end up reading at least 25 books this summer.
Hope Hill Will they discover the cause of her mysterious ailment in time?
Hope Hill Gomez and Morticia Addams from Addams Family Values. I really liked that they loved each other and felt comfortable showing it. They didn't try to change each other or bemoan each other's quirks and foibles they just loved each other dearly and made certain everyone knew it. Rich or poor they banded together as a family.

As far as books go I'm not certain who my favorite fictional couple would be. Perhaps Lark and Rosethorn from Tamora Pierce's books in The Circle Universe. They are both incredibly strong women and both work long hours apart but neither of them cheat or fall into jealous rages. They end up being strong in different ways which I loved. They were written in ways that make it obvious they are strong on their own but stronger together. I love that Lark and Rosethorn don't fall into the trap of letting time apart break their bonds. Their greatest strength is their ability to communicate with each other is wonderful. They trust each other with their lives and hearts. This love is what makes them such good teachers and adoptive parents. Ultimately reading about Lark and Rosethorn as a child helped shape my idea of what a healthy relationship should be.
Hope Hill That depends on when it happens. If it's during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) or Camp NaNoWriMo then I have to keep going. I'm on a deadline and even if it's arbitrary those words don't write themselves. So I reread the section I wrote last and see if that helps. If it does great I start writing, if not I I switch tactics. Sometimes switching characters helps. Worst case scenario I put it down and either do something else for a while or work on a different story, poem or song. It's a trick I used with crossword puzzles as a kid. If you can't find one word stop looking for it and search for a different one. That way you're still accomplishing something.
Hope Hill Depends on the type of writing; with poetry I might see an interesting tree and start thinking about it. Songs are different lyrics come to me in sections a line or two at a time. Sometimes I can figure out the next line sometimes I can't. Stories can be inspired by anything. I might hear a brief conversation, or see an interesting character, maybe it's a picture. Sometimes there isn't any inspiration. Those days I either don't write or I read what I wrote last to see if I can jar anything loose.
Hope Hill Dancing on the Ceiling started out as a challenge. Someone told me to keep a diary and I thought that was boring. So I challenged myself to find a more interesting way to journal than daily entries or letters. Since I've always liked poetry I decided to do all of my journal entries in poetry. I didn't want there to be dates or separate poems for each entry so I just made it a massive poem. Multiple drafts later Dancing on the Ceiling was finally ready to be revealed.
Hope Hill I'm currently writing my second novel. With luck I'll be done with the first draft by 2018. Shadow Realms is book one in a series. A Sci-Fi novel with liberal doses of fantasy it's definitely going to be an interesting ride. There's not much more that can be said about it at this stage since I don't know what will be changed in later drafts.
Hope Hill Don't be afraid to try new things. Some of the most interesting stories come about because somebody ventured out of their comfort zone and came up with something incredible. So read lots of things. Read the genre you want to write and read things you don't plan to write. Take dares, do prompts and every once in a while take a risk. Write something in a new genre, write a chapter from a perspective you've never used before, make the villain your protagonist. Even if you decide you don't like it at least you'll have tried and your craft will be better for it. Above all write. It's impossible to be a writer without writing and until you start you can't improve.
Hope Hill Getting to create something that wouldn't exist otherwise. Writing allows you the opportunity to explore new worlds and look at things in a whole new light. It's always fun to create a character that is very dissimilar to you and enjoy immersing yourself in their world. I like being an Armchair Adventurer.
