How do you get inspired to write?

Hope Hill Depends on the type of writing; with poetry I might see an interesting tree and start thinking about it. Songs are different lyrics come to me in sections a line or two at a time. Sometimes I can figure out the next line sometimes I can't. Stories can be inspired by anything. I might hear a brief conversation, or see an interesting character, maybe it's a picture. Sometimes there isn't any inspiration. Those days I either don't write or I read what I wrote last to see if I can jar anything loose.
