Hi! I really enjoyed the chronicles of the necromancer series and I messaged you many years ago and you were kind enough to respond and recommend some others that you wrote. I am reaching out again because I tend to re read these series once a year and listen to them in audio book format for hours on end. I do have many unanswered questions and am wondering when we might see more of this series?
Gail Z. Martin Thanks! That's awesome! I do plan to launch the Legacy of the Necromancer series, but the pandemic put me behind and I'm trying to get caught up before I start that (big) project! The ebook is back out after a publisher change, and the print version will be back in trade paperback, as well as a first-ever hard cover version! Look for that later this summer. Have you read The Shadowed Path and The Dark Road--the Jonmarc Vahanian Adventures? They're a prequel to The Summoner and they go through Jonmarc's life from the time he's 15 until about 5 years before he meets Tris. Enjoy!

Hi, I'm a huge fan of your Ascendant Kingdoms series. Are you going to do more with this world? I miss the characters and would like more stories with them or their descendants.
Gail Z. Martin Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed them! I never say never, but right now I don't have new adventures planned. Did you read Convicts and Exiles? It's the story about their time in Velant and on Edgeland that fits between the very beginning of Ice Forged and where it picks up six years later. Thanks!

Gail Z. Martin Hi! Thank you--glad you like the books. I do plan to do the new books but the pandemic slowed me down and I'm still trying to get caught up. It'll happen!

Gail Z. Martin Hi! Thank you very much! I'm glad you are enjoying the books. The good news is that more books in each of those series have been sold to Audible. The bad news is that I have no control over when or how fast they come out! Their production queue is very full, so I'm at the mercy of when my books come to the front of the line. I'd like them to hurry up, too! Thanks for asking--the best I can say is, just keep checking. We should have the next 'season' of Spells, Salt and Steel in December. Thanks!

I see books 3 & 4 of the Chronicles are temporarily unavailable in ebook format. Do you have an idea when they will be back up? Have wanted to dive back into this again and my arthritic hands can't handle print books.
Gail Z. Martin Very soon! We had to jump through some hoops to get the rights straightened out and then needed to re-edit the ebooks, but we are in the last stages and they should be out before the end of 2022. Thanks!

It is probably just my weirdness but have you ever considered doing a list of the recommended order of your various series that all crossover? I would love to read them in a timeline order. I have read some of them already but it wasn't until I started reading some of them to realize that they have crossovers.
Gail Z. Martin I have lists in both my Worlds of Morgan Brice and Shadow Alliance reader groups on Facebook that lists all of them in timeline order! You can find the lists pinned to the top with Announcements. Thanks!

Have you thought of doing more books with Travis Dominick and Brent Lawson? I just saw they have their own book, and I've loved them when they popped up with Simon Kindcade/etc., and I'd be excited for a series about Travis and Brent!

Very much loved INHERITANCE and am re-reading the Badlands series. Looking forward to any future installments on both! Do you think the two will ever crossover again with Simon & Vic getting to spend time with Cassidy?
Gail Z. Martin Hi! Thanks for asking--glad that you loved Inheritance and the Badlands books! There will be more of everything. I'm sure that at some point, Simon and Vic will be back down to Charleston--or Cassidy will be in Myrtle Beach (they're only about 1.5 hours apart). Have you read Unholy in the Witchbane series? It takes place in Charleston, so there's a lot of crossovers. Also, my free novella, Leap of Faith, takes place right after Unholy and has Seth and Evan stopping in on Simon and Vic for some vacation time (and of course, nothing ever goes smoothly!) It's available for free on Prolific Works. Enjoy!

I've been waiting for years now and i'm dying to know what's going on with Tris, Kiara, and their kids. Thanks Mrs. Martin!
Gail Z. Martin Hi Aryeh! Thank you so much. I'm glad the books and characters have a place in your heart! Let's put it this way, I've paid for original artwork covers for the first three books in the new Legacy of the Necromancer series by Michael Komarck, the same artist who did the first three books plus the first Jonmarc short stories. Two of those covers are finished. Everything in 2020 has me behind on what I thought would be done by now, but returning to Tris's world is definitely going to happen!

Right now we're working to get the ebooks for the first four books back on Amazon. The original publisher retired and we got the rights back, then had to reformat and proofread. We're hoping to have those ebooks back up this spring. Thank you so much!

Really looking forward to the next DEADLY CURIOSITIES installment! I am re-reading the first three for Oct. and I've talked a couple friends into checking them out. Is there an ETA on book 4?
Gail Z. Martin Inheritance, the fourth novel, came out in late October! And of course, there are the two collections of short stories/novellas (Trifles and Folly/Trifles and Folly2). A new 5th novel will be out in 2020! I’m so glad you like the series. Thank you!

Gail Z. Martin Hi! Thank you! I’m a little behind on when I thought I’d get started, but I plan to have it written in 2020 and out in 2021. I also just got the amazing cover art from Michael Komarck, who did the cover for The Summoner, so I am very excited about returning to that world!

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Gail Z. Martin Most fictional worlds are very exciting places to have adventures, but not really good places to live! Maybe Valdemar, Mercedes Lackey’s world. I would like to go help the librarian, Misty!

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Gail Z. Martin I’m trying to finish up the fourth Deadly Curiosities novel (Inheritance) and just finished and handed in the second Assassin’s Of Landria novel (Sellsword’s Oath), so I’ve been in edit mode, largely reading my own stuff to proof it!

Is Assassin's Honor going to be a Kindle/Amazon exclusive or will it be available for nook also?
Gail Z. Martin Right now, the plans are to keep it Kindle/Amazon exclusive because of KDP. It is also now in audiobook! (Remember that even if you have a Nook, you can read a Kindle book on the free app on any computer, tablet or phone.) Thank you!

Not a question but more a concern, was trying to get all of the Chronicles on digital but Amazon seems to have a problem with the fourth book. I initially thought it a temporary issue so I've been checking on it time and again and no possibility. I've only got a Kindle eReader so you may see the problem. Wasn't sure if you were aware of it?
Gail Z. Martin Hi Brandon! Yes, there was a glitch and a reader brought it to my attention, so I could flag the publisher. It took some loading and re-loading on their part, and now we think it’s fixed. Dark Lady’s Chosen now shows up as available on Kindle in the US, UK and Canada Amazon. Please let me know if you have any trouble ordering/receiving it. I’m grateful when readers tell me these things, because otherwise I wouldn’t know! Thank you!

Gail Z. Martin Hi Aryeh! Thanks for asking. The Dark Road is the second collection of Jonmarc Vahanian stories, but probably not the last. It ends about 5 years before The Summoner begins, when Jonmarc is just beginning his smuggling career. So there are more tales to be told there! As for the next book in the main series, I will be writing the first in The Legacy of the Necromancer series later this year, with the anticipation that the book will come out in the first half of 2019 and be one of at least 4 books. BTW, I’ve contracted with Michael Komarck, the artist who did the covers for the first 3 books in the original series (as well as the cover for Iron & Blood and The Shadowed Path) to do the covers for the new series!
