There are so many fictional worlds that I'd love to explore, but I probably wouldn't do anything if I arrived there, I'd just observe.

I'm currently trying to make some progress on 'Heart', a story about a blind boy and a deaf girl. It got put on hold while I finished 'Beauty in the Breakdown' but, since it is something that I started a few years ago, I feel like I need to write the ending it deserves.

As always, the inspiration came from endless hours spent analysing song lyrics, watching music videos, and researching films. The idea of Bonnie and Clyde was a big influence in the early chapters but music video plots took over from then onwards.
There was a song called 'Beauty In The Breakdown' by The Scene Aesthetic which inspired the title and a the relationship between the characters. The music videos were 'By Now' by Marianas Trench and 'Robbers' by The 1975. Both videos are very similar in content but take different spins on the same topic (I'll put them below in case you're interested in watching them). Both of these ideas were put into words and then into the book.
