Tracey Smith The inspiration to write is always present. The discipline to do so is the tricky part. Sometimes I have entire chapters written in my head before I finally sit down and put it in writing. But regardless of what I am doing throughout my day my current work in progress is always on my mind.
Tracey Smith Yes and No. I write romance so of course by the end of the book the main couple has come together. However everything in between is dynamic, especially with regard to any elements of mystery or suspense that are tied in to the overall plot. I may start out writing a romantic suspense with the idea that Mr. X will be the villain and half way through it become Mrs. Y. I definitely give myself that flexibility while writing.
Tracey Smith I take a break. I hold myself to no writing requirement. Some days I write, some days I don't. I may walk away from a project from several weeks or more if I'm struggling with it. Then one day it will be all I can think about and I'm back at it again.
Tracey Smith Writing for me is like reading can be for many. I get to experience new places, meet new people, and live many lives. When I'm not writing I am thinking about what I will write next. It fills all the quiet spaces in my mind.
Tracey Smith The best part about writing is that you don't have to get it right the first time. Keep at it! Write, revise, edit, repeat.
Tracey Smith A Winter Wedding (Devereaux Manor Mystery Book Two). To be released December 2014!
Tracey Smith My current work in progress is the second book in a romantic suspense series. As I completed the first book, A Summer Romance, I had already begun mentally outlining book two. It's difficult to pinpoint where ideas come from. I just write what I would enjoy reading.
