Back to the old West just after the Civil War. Times were simpler then but you still had to work hard. Become a Lawman or maybe a rancher. I have always felt I was born at least 150 years too late.

Many years ago a neighbor of mine son disappeared. The people were standoffish and more than a tad strange. A short time after the disappearance., new people moved in but didn't remain there long. They complained they could hear noises coming from a root cellar. The root seller was empty of course.

I think this is the curse of every writer. When it happens,, step back and walkaway for a few hours or days, however long it takes.
When you come back! Look at what you have written, then look back through your manuscript. 9 times out of 10 there is an exit there that you can use to take a slightly different path that will help you around the block.
Whatever you do, don't discard the block until you feel you are beyond it and back on track. Sometimes the block is only there because you have not yet discovered all the entrances and exits in the story.

This is easy, I get to stay home! I don't have a boss to answer to if I'm late. I don't need to get dressed to write. I sit in front of the computer with coffee (a requirement, especially first thing in the morning or late at night when I'm are on a roll) and write for at least 3 hours every morning. Other chore are taken care of after that is finished. Then its back to work writing again for as long as I feel the words flowing.

Hell! I'm an aspiring writer myself myself, at least under my own name.
All I can offer others is to find something that you like. If you read Science Fiction, your own work should be in that genre. The same goes for whatever flavor you enjoy reading. You already have an idea of how the books are written. All you have to do is find the kernel to grow your own story on. It needs to be original and exciting.
Get yourself a note book and pencil. (yes!! The one made from paper. not the electronic type that's also called a notebook. The pencil is the long skinny thing usually yellow or orange in color and writes on paper.)
These two things should be your constant companions. Take them everywhere with you - bathroom as well - You never know when or where that first spark of inspiration will strike. When it does, write it down in the note book so you don't forget it.
Eventually when you have found the kernel work with it. Nurture the idea and see if it bears fruit. If it does, good! You have the makings of a story to tell. If not, put it aside and look again for something else.
Whatever you do make the story your own!

Inspiration comes in many forms. Sometimes its just a fleeting thought that grows into a novel. There are other times when you see something interesting. There is a story in everything you see,. but those stories is not always yours to tell.
An author has to choose wisely what to write about otherwise he or she will end up with a desk full of beginnings and nothing else.

I'm currently working on Book 2 of Shadow Warrior, that will be the conclusion to the story. I have the outline of 2 more to follow after that in the series.
What's beyond that? I'm not sure i haven't thought that far ahead just yet.

It was just one of those ideas that grew out of a tiny seed. It grew and soon bore fruit. Shadow Warrior Book One
