Born in New Zealand sometime around the middle of last century, and according to my mother, I was found under a cabbage plant when asked where I came from. During these early years I spent a lot of time with my Grandparents. My Grandfather was a fisherman and owned a small fleet of ocean going fishing boats. Before I was 5 years old I knew how to strip down the engines and how to mend and make fishing nets. All these good things taught to me, I was sure would hold me in good stead at some future time.

I think this is the curse of every writer. When it happens,, step back and walkaway for a few hours or days, however long it takes.
When you come back! Look at what you have written, then look back through your manuscript. 9 times out of 10 there is an exit there that you can use to take a slightly different path that will help you around the block.
Whatever you do, don't discard the block until you feel you are beyond it and back on track. Sometimes the block is only there because you have not yet discovered all the entrances and exits in the story.(less)

I sit in front of the computer w…moreThis is easy, I get to stay home! I don't have a boss to answer to if I'm late. I don't need to get dressed to write. I sit in front of the computer with coffee (a requirement, especially first thing in the morning or late at night when I'm are on a roll) and write for at least 3 hours every morning. Other chore are taken care of after that is finished. Then its back to work writing again for as long as I feel the words flowing.(less)
