DASL Writer I may read a chapter from a novel or listen to some smooth jazz. And, then once I've got the brain juices flowing, I start writing.
DASL Writer I'm working on Syphons (A New Adult Sci-Fi Romance). The story is about a young woman who wakes up in the home of a handsome stranger and now she needs him to help save her friend and stop her from losing her humanity from brain-eating parasites. I'm also working on blog posts for my website dasmithwrite.com.
DASL Writer My advice for aspiring writers is to just do it. I spoke to a family member of a well-known romance author who started out as a self-pub author. Her family member said that her daughter-in-law didn't allow anything to stop her from being a writer. She just did it. And, now she's happier and wealthier for it.
DASL Writer Creating new worlds and controlling the destiny of many characters all at the same time. As long as you are in control you make the rules and you get to break them too.
DASL Writer I had a severe case of writer's block that lasted a year. I couldn't get around it. So, I started researching what was the cause of my writer's block. I found out it was self-doubt, and criticism from well-meaning family members who didn't want me to become a writer. So, instead of focusing on those negative things, I started focusing on my happiness. Long story short, my blocks are almost always caused by emotional or mental sadness, so I try to do things to improve my resilience and keep writing my main goal.
