Laura Steel-Marshall The third book in the Harkhuf trilogy is underway, but I am not rushing this as I intend to re-package the whole trilogy into one longer book and find a traditional publisher. I am also working on a whole slate of screenplays, a children's book with a female protagonist and a novella.
Laura Steel-Marshall The only cure for writer's block is a reasonably long walk. The difficult thing is choosing where to walk to. If I am writing a chapter set in Ancient Egypt, it's not always possible to find a route that will inspire me appropriately but I will usually incorporate a detour that links to what I am writing, for example a walk by a river or a browse in a particularly good bookshop.
Laura Steel-Marshall I have recently rediscovered Sebastian Faulks, having read his 'Birdsong' as part of my A Level literature course. I found 'Engleby' at a book swap, and can't put it down, so I now intend to read anything of his I can get my hands on. I think there is a copy of Charlotte Gray lying around somewhere but I suppose I will need to read the Girl at the Lion d'Or first...
