The only cure for writer's block is a reasonably long walk. The difficult thing is choosing where to walk to. If I am writing a chapter set in Ancient Egypt, it's not always possible to find a route that will inspire me appropriately but I will usually incorporate a detour that links to what I am writing, for example a walk by a river or a browse in a particularly good bookshop.
