Wake up earlier. I found that my easiest writing was done at 4 in the morning. I think that was primarily because I am a much simpler person in the morning and can't stomach larger questions (is this good enough? am I good enough?) that lead to writer's block.

Huang Shan is gorgeous. My favorite places were the Gobi Desert on the Inner Mongolia/Mongolia border, the planes of Aba prefectrue (I was there as a bilingual event host for the Tibetan Gesar festival), and a few of the local mountains by Chengdu. found that the company I was with shaped the landscapes and memories of the places as much as the scenery, and it sometimes difficult to rate each independent of my experience there.
