This is a tough question as I've read so many books with exciting worlds that would be an adventure to inhabit. The one that I think would be the most exciting to me, though, would be Anne McCaffrey's Pern.
The chance to see the big dragons and possibly have the chance to fly on one of the great creatures would make this world my top choice.

That is a tough question for me because I don't have a 'summer' reading list. I like to read all of the time and I normally read between 80- 100 books in a year.
Whenever I'm writing (which is all of the time), I try to read books in the same genre as I'm writing in, as that helps me stay motivated and helps fight writers block. I also like to read a lot of historical and biographical novels. I find a lot of ideas for future stories in historical events.
After saying all of that, the biggest books on my list right now are a group of Hugo award winners that I am reading, including All Systems Red by Martha Wells, Way Station by Clifford Simak and Double Star by Robert Heinlein.

The book I'm currently working on, came to me all in one piece. I was trying to finish the editing process on my last book and this new story came to me while I was working on that one. I finally had to stop what I was doing and put down the outline on paper so I could concentrate on finishing up the edits on the other story.
I had been toying with the idea of a murder mystery on a space station and the story just came to me full-blown one night as I was going to sleep. The more I thought about it, the more details filled in until I had most of the story outlined.

First, find time to write, something every day even if it is only a sentence or paragraph. Write something every day. Second, don't let others define your dream. If you don't feel you have the skills, go somewhere that you can get them, but don't listen to others tell you that you're not good enough.

I am currently finishing Final Reckoning, the third installment of the Pathfinder Trilogy with my brothers, Jared and Craig. I am also working on a solo novel, The Humboldt Mess. It is also a Military SF novel that is nearing completion of the first draft.

I once read another author saying that "You can't edit what you haven't written." With that in mind, I deal with writer's block by writing. It sounds counter intuitive but that is what I try to do. Whatever I write may not be saying what I want to say and I will have to go back and make changes, sometimes major changes, but at least I'm moving forward.
