For us, since we are a mom and daughters writing group, the best part is getting to work together. We love sharing our stories with each other and it's so much fun to see where the stories lead us.

Pick up a pencil, pen, crayon, keyboard, tablet, anything you can get your hands on and put your thoughts down. Immediately! One of our biggest problems is that characters, ideas, thoughts swim into our minds and if we don't immediately write them down, they swim away. Usually, forever. So don't let your ideas swim away. Write them down!

Our characters inspired us to write their stories! Sam and Rex were bored in their town of Boring, MD. They wanted adventures. So they knocked on our door and asked us to create adventures for them. We were happy to comply. Next thing we knew Leo and Duke sailed by and yelled from their ship to help them discover the treasure! We had nothing better to do that day, so we jumped on board!

We are currently writing the second book in A Sam and Rex Adventure series. Since the first book was about a summer vacation, we thought it would be fun to switch seasons. The next book's title is, "The Christmas Bandit".
