Make sure you've got some kind of writing experience before you start a book or novel. This doesn't have to be anything other than a daily journal but getting into the habit of writing daily and originally is really helpful when it comes to crafting larger works. Also, take advice and listen. Don't be afraid to make changes and listen to those who've been there before. The community is so helpful and learning from others is by far the most valuable lesson I've found.

Being able to create and live in magical worlds and experience life in all its glory from so many different perspectives. If I ever hear I've moved a reader, then I know I've succeeded in delivering my characters and plot lines.

Just keep writing! Sometimes I switch to writing something more straightforward, maybe a letter or a blog post, but the only way I've found to cope with writers block is to write something. Often, if you push through it, it's over and down with a lot more quickly!
