I can't remember a time when I didn't have a book in my hands. As a child I used to hide them under the bedclothes and many a night I'd fall asleep mid-chapter, waking only when the book slipped from my grasp.

As an avid reader I'd always promised myself I'd write a book yet I had no idea if I'd be able to do it. When I read a book that I'm invested in then I'll read the beginning before skipping to the end to make sure it ends how I want it to. If it does, then I'll go back and read the middle - strange, I know! So I figured I'd do the same thing when writing; craft the beginning and the end but struggle to write the middle, yet, a few years ago I surprised myself.
