I walk away. The moment I try to force a message or passage is the moment it will lose its authenticity to my voice. I walk, hike, practice choreography for my dance fitness class, go sit and listen to the waves, play a game or anything that my mind can wander back to ease. Whatever it is I don't force it. Writing is about giving a piece of my soul, so to speak, and with that it needs to be free flowing, open and honest. Stepping away can do that for me.

For me it is still hard to consider myself a writer but this is really an easy answer. The best part is watching someone read my words and it sparks a thought in them or a connection to his/her/their own lives or when the person(s) tells me that my message or book sparked a great conversation with someone they know. Knowing that you wrote something that impacts others is the best thing to me.

I would say the same thing I tell myself. Write what you believe in. Share your story because you want to share it. Don't worry about the numbers of people who may buy it instead cherish the one's that do. Most of all, believe in your voice. I do not write like my English teacher taught me I write like an average guy who spent 22 years in the military. My writing is not always perfect but it is always 100 percent me. It is easy to live with your words in your voice. It is not easy to live with your voice in someone else's words. Be You!

Book wise I am working on promoting this book and linking it to wellness programs in my area. This is my first book and, to be honest, I believe the messages within need to be shared. Which is why I am focused mainly on its promotion.

As a fitness instructor (dance fitness and bootcamp) I spend a lot of time talking and sharing my thoughts with students on a wide range of topics that they may face both in and out of the gym. Those conversations and others I have spark thoughts, hence "Just A Thought", that I think others may benefit from. My inspiration comes from wanting to share what I think is needed at the time.

It is within the intro of the book but the inspiration behind this book was to add something of substance to my social media platform. After a few years and a lot of great discussions I finally compiled them all in this book. So, readers of my messages gave me the idea.
