My inspiration for 'Bitter Awakenings' came about due to my love of several different things compiled into one fantastic adventure. Growing up, I loved comics and anything relating to superheroes and "teams" where everyone contributed something to the overall plot or situation. I also grew up loving fantasy, magic, and the supernatural. I wanted to include as much as possible into my book while ensuring that the characters felt real, faced real threats, and ultimately dealt with life beyond their normal world in a sweeping epic that could showcase it all. :)
