I write whether I'm inspired or not, quite honestly.

I'm currently preparing to launch my nonfiction book on love and modern medicine, "Memoirs of a Surgeon's Wife: I'm Throwing Your Damn Pager into the Ocean".
This book is a long time coming: I started writing it in 2013, based on my experiences being married to a surgeon.
I can't wait to release it on July 17, 2018! Stay tuned!

Before I wrote "100 of Your Toughest Business Emails: Solved", I was thinking about my Corporate Communications career and the lessons I took away from it.
I thought, 'What unique skills/perspectives did I gain from my experience?'
I realized that it gave me an unexpected gift: the ability to say just about anything in a diplomatic manner.
So, I wrote a book about it to help others who struggle with difficult email communications.

Everything! Being a writer is incredible. I'm especially loving being a self-published author, which gives me the ability to take my writing career into my own hands.

If I really cannot deal with writing, I use one of two strategies: 1) Getting away from my computer for a bit, often to work out. This helps clear my head. 2) Working on social media, marketing plans, web site or blog updates--anything to get my mind off the 'block' and keep things moving.
