Mark Ellis I'm not sure that I'd like to visit many of the settings for the books I read - I'm a big Stephen King fan so the first place that comes to mind is Castle Rock. I'd be scared though.....

I'm definitely a Chris Hadfield fan too though - so the ISS would be fab!
Mark Ellis I set myself the same environment to write in every time, so I know I CAN be creative in that space. If that fails, then I always have an outline to work to that I can refer back to. In my case, it's a set of presentation slides that imagine myself presenting on stage, I can imagine myself in front of an audience and find my way again.
Mark Ellis For me, it's a creative outlet. I'm a techno geek at heart, and until I started to write I hadn't discovered a 'creative' aspect to myself. Ironically, the act of dieting technology gives you a creative brain boost, which lead to the writing! It's wonderful to have a medium where you can help other people - every day I get notes from others telling me how much the book has helped them.
Mark Ellis Don't give up. If you have a story that needs to be written, stick with it, make writing a habit, and if you get stuck just keep writing anything. You can always throw it away later.
Mark Ellis I'm researching for two other books at the moment, the first one to publish will be an extended version of Digitox with some Christian additions, to help with bible study and life/faith application. I'm hoping to have that completed by January 2018.

My wife Caroline is co-authoring that one with me, following some feedback from various speaking engagement and interviews.
Mark Ellis I never thought I could, but three friends and authors helped get me going. Now I love it, although I need my music, my spaniel, a candle and nice lighting to get my head in the right place!
Mark Ellis In 2014, my wife and I decided that the children (and me) where spending too much time doing our own thing, mostly online. I had a bit of a fit and unplugged the internet - the kids went mad, and being stubborn we stuck with it. We've been spending every Sunday and also every evening past 7/8pm off the internet since then.

After a few weeks, we noticed major changes in behaviour and I started to research why that might be. What I found needed to be shared - and so the book was born. It's really aimed at helping people who want to do this, convince their family to do it, and see the benefits as quickly as possible.
