I can't say there is any particular place I'd want to travel to. I'm interested mostly in contemporary novels nowadays, and so if I wanted to travel to a location in a book I'm reading, I can't imagine it would be difficult to do.

There are several things: engaging my creativity, having the flexibility to work as I can, and when I can. Through writing, I can explore themes, topics, events, all kinds of things in the fictional world I am creating.

Find as many resources as you can, look especially for those groups that support the interests of writers in your field. For me, that was the Romance Writers Association of America. Not only is there the national group, but there are local chapters as well.

They didn't even think about dating at the time. She was in high school, he was working in a different community. But then she got accepted to college in the town where he works....

Inspiration can come from anywhere: people watching outside my window; walking down a street; reading a newspaper; looking at a movie. I see or hear things that make a connection for me, and out comes the phone or a piece of paper. I then jot down my ideas.

Essays I was reading helped me understand the struggles young women had in a world where there seemed to be no rules about dating and relationships, but they yearned for the certainty that women of older generations had in their dating lives in more conservative times, that dating was for the purpose of establishing a long term relationship leading to marriage..
