P.G. Smith Write, write, write! Don't second guess or criticize your own writing and don't listen to feedback from folks with negative energy. I would have published this book years ago if I didn't listen to some negative folks around me who validated my own tendency to doubt the value of my own writing. Rising above self-criticism and publishing this book was one of best things I ever did. Be strong, be positive, and never doubt the beauty of your work.

P.G. Smith "Prayers for Evil" actually began as a nightmare. When I woke up, the vivid aftertaste of the antagonist was so strong that I had to write out a description. Over several years I added themes, other characters, plot twists, settings, and mood. Writing this story was a great bit of therapy when I needed to get away from the stress of my careers as an educator and Army Officer.
P.G. Smith I'm taking a break from novel writing by assembling a collection of short stories. Short stories enable me to explore many different characters, plot lines, settings, themes, etc. without committing to the lengthy process of developing a novel. That being said, short stories don't offer the same level of escape into an alternate reality that a novel gives.
