How many near-death experiences I've had that really makes me wonder if there is some entity out there that is trying to take me out of the game.

He leaned back in his chair- black, leather, big, a throne perfect for the kings and queens of Hollywood- and languidly flips through the manuscript resting on his crossed legs. Skimming through the last page, he glances up at the serf, an intern whose name he can never get right, fidgeting before him, and asks, "Seems good. Tell 'em I'll be glad to get Cars 4 out."

Okay, you ready to have some second-hand embarrassment?

The Sailor Moon universe. No matter what gender I am, I would definitely be a Sailor Scout. I would love to have magic and light and fire shooting out of my fingers and traveling to other worlds (and the color-coded uniforms are on point.)

"Ever since I was a little kid" is so cliched and vague, but honestly, it's true...ish? I mean, I was super imaginative back then, sort of living in my head, but it wasn't until I was 13 that I first picked up a pen. Around that time, I heard Cryoshell's 2007 song "Creeping in my Soul" (Ow, the nostalgia!) and a story just bloomed in my head. So, I worked on, completed, and trashed my first ever novel, "Soul Fighter", which was your standard teen-girl hunter fighting a world conquered by demons.

Annnnnnd I answer this too late, ha ha!
Well, friends and followers may know what books I have read during the summer and what I'm currently reading right now (which is Mejia's "We Set the Dark on Fire" and Johnson's "Work Party"). There are also books I'm trying to catch up on that I've won on Goodreads a long time ago and recently, like Davis's "The Good Luck Girls"). I may also pick up "Pep Talks for Writers" by Grant Faulkner for the dreaded NaNoWriMo.

For Mechaniclise, the inspiration came from Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale's song "Shatter Me". As for Pocket Angel, I don't know! It just came to me out of nowhere.

Music! And reading! Art begets art, after all.

I have been working on a sci-fi political novel titled "Mechaniclise", a story of mechanically engineered servants shunning their roles and brainwashing to rebel against their former King.
But I had put that to the side because as of NaNoWriMo 2018, I'm working on my speculative book, "Pocket Angels", a story of a little girl and her star-born angel ending her father's reign on the world through his sales of imperfect and destructive angels.

Forget motivation. Write every day, even if you don't feel like it. You develop a skill through discipline, not inspiration.

Creating worlds and people, and having a voice in the pages whereas it is hard for me to be vocal in real life.

I explore many methods of getting past writer's block. Currently, I use a stream of consciousness method, where I write down on a separate document some brainstorming ideas, fears and frustrations, questions about my story and essays, and adding to the story's timeline.
But the best time-tested method has always been curl up in a ball, cry, and stuff my face with chocolate while music is blasting in my ears until an a-ha moment comes.
