Write for yourself. Write the story that you want. You're not going to please everyone, so try not to get discouraged when you don't. The most help I ever received was from an absolute scathing review of one of my drafts. It made me step up my game, but I know that person will NEVER like my book or my writing...and that's okay. This was the story I wanted, the way I wanted it.

I find inspiration when I experience the right kind of moments. It can be the eerie gray of a rainy day, a song on the radio, or reading a good book. It's not always predictable or convenient, but it happens often enough to keep me excited and continually progressing.

I got the idea from many different experiences over the years combined with my love for fantasy and fairytales. I was fortunate to grow up with two grandmas who both loved reading stories to grandkids. I've always felt a bit lost to my wandering daydreams. Some of the characters were inspired by people I knew from studying abroad. The bonds that were formed at that pivotal point in my life were extremely important to me.
