Most authors start their imaginative journey with a strong passion to write, some ambitious enough to begin creating a novel or novella. While this is quite admirable, I would advise aspiring writers to develop at least one or two short stories prior to this difficult task. These narratives can provide a foundation from which to define and develop your writing style. Another key element is to practice, practice and practice - write everyday.

When I'm creatively challenged, I direct my focus towards other pathways such as website development and social media updates. The key is to keep engaging your innate ability to create something wonderful and inspiring to others.
In addition, I find it helpful to enjoy a relaxing walk by the ocean, write early in the morning, and eliminate all distractions for at least 3 or 4 hours.
