What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Kacey Carpenter Create a routine to write every single day. You can write for an hour or ten minutes but create a habit to start writing. I like to take a walk after writing in the morning and think about ideas and reflect on my thoughts. I write in coffee shops, in public libraries, outdoors in parks and gardens, and indoors at home.

What are you currently working on?
Kacey Carpenter I am very busy volunteering for campaigns in California and around the country. My next book will be a playbook for candidates, campaigns, and causes with best practices, tips and tricks, and case studies.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Kacey Carpenter I traveled around the country and the world for Bernie Sanders. At the convention in Philly, I knew that I needed to share my experience and tell the stories of many of the people that I met on the journey.
