I grew up exploring the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, which sparked my love of outdoor adventures and the mysteries of nature. After earning degrees from UCLA and Wharton, I built a career in high-tech while raising my family in Northern California.

Now based in Oregon, I stay active in the outdoors as a Sierra Club outings leader and volunteer in my community, including leading the National Writers Union Writers Corner program. When I’m ...more

I am inspired by John Steinbeck and his book Travels with Charley. Around the time I was born in the 1960s, Steinbeck set out across America with his French poodle, Charley.
