So far, that has rarely been a problem for me. That said, when I am feeling *rusty*, I find that listening to cheesy 1970's pop music will get my brain moving in the story-telling direction. I also -- very consistently -- write better and more swiftly with a soundtrack of Renaissance choral music (Thomas Tallis is a favorite) on my headphones. There's something very meditative about that music which opens my mind to fluid writing.

I do not have to be polite to anyone. :-)

Read well-written books in the genre you want to write. Write *something* every day, even if it's just notes on the books you have read. Reading and writing are two different muscle groups, but they rely upon one another -- neither can function independently. You must keep them both in tip-top condition.

I am editing and polishing Book Two of the Salt Water Scars three-book series. I hope to have it up by December 2017 or January 2018. Plus I am also working on a few other ghostwriting projects. I usually have a few things going at once.

The better question is how do I know when to stop, or at least take a break? The answer is I don't do well when I am not writing or reading or doing research for a project. I don;t have to get inspired to write. What I need to do -- and am very bad at -- is sleeping.

I have always been fascinated by the Gilded Age, and the weird lives of people born into what I consider an obscene amount of wealth. I have read multiple biographies of these sorts, from the various Vanderbilt's, to lesser known members of the elite, including Nelson Aldrich's auto-biography, "Old Money", and the biography of Eric Prince, "Master of War".
The question that has always plagued me regarding the super-rich, is why so many of them chose to use their wealth and power to pursue more wealth and power, or simply sit on the sidelines, contributing very little. I wanted to explore a character -- a man in many ways similar to Eric Prince (founder of Blackwater) -- who made different decisions, better decisions, and who changed the world for the good as opposed to using all his advantages to wreak more havoc, extending violence globally.
There's much more to this book series, "Salt Water Scars" than just that, but that's the root of what motivated me to start the project.
