I sat down and asked myself, what kind of adventure would I like to go on as a teenager. The "what if" questions we ask ourselves sometimes prove to be a valuable source of ideas.

Because I love to write. Sometimes, I lose sight of that, but it gets rekindled (no pun intended) when I read other stories from authors I know and some I have yet to meet.

Several things, some of which I won't mention because I write under a pseudonym. I'm working on 2 more novels in the Progenitors Anthology and if there's enough interest, I'll run a contest for authors to submit short stories for the series which I'll publish (hence the term anthology).

Keep going! Learn all you can, and then, learn more. Everyone had to start at some time. Keep in mind that you're doing it for the love of writing and the rest will come later. Did I mention keep going? You'll get there, I have faith in you.

It allows me to be creative, but most of all, I get to live in an alternate world where I can sometimes temporarily forget unpleasant realities.

There are several ways. If I'm experiencing writer's block, I've learned that subconsciously there's something wrong or missing with what I just wrote. If I think about it, I discover the answer and rewrite the passage and that eliminates the writer's block. Usually, I structure everything I write with a loose plot/chapter outline. This gives me a goal, but allows enough room to be creative and spontaneous. It also allows me to skip around and work on different sections so I don't get bored of what I'm doing. Another tactic of mine is to work on a completely different story and alternate back and forth.
