Writing is like breathing! It permeates everything and is like a never-ending compulsion. I am often inspired to write specific scenes or experiences by listening to music. I always listen to music as I write and quite often, it does steer me in different directions than I had originally intended.

If you really want it, never give up. Everyone experiences set-back and rejections. Sometimes, all it takes is one person who loves your unique voice and your story. Don't give up until you find that person. Also, focus on improving your craft. Writing is like tennis- you're not going to the Grand Slam unless you are willing to work like crazy and get to that level of the game.

I try to not get too stressed about it. Sometimes I do characterization excercises to help, which are fun and suprisingly helpful. This might be something along the lines of writing 200 words about how one of my characters would react if they won the lottery or got caught up in a hostage situation, for example...
