What are some good marketing strategies for new authors? Where are some good places to go to for author events? Sorry if I'm being nosy but I'm working on my own debut novel and am self-published.
Misty Hayes My advice is to do as much research and planning about marketing prior to your release as you can. If you have not released it yet, I would definitely suggest doing a pre-sale option for your book three months in advance before your launch date. This gives you time to submit your ARC's for reviews (if you plan on having your novel in print format). Get on social media and promote, promote, promote. Your platform should be brimming with Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Unfortunately, once your book is completed, that's not the hardest part done... marketing and getting out there is the hardest. Look for your genre audience and cast a wide a net as possible. Hope this helps! Good luck with your book!

Misty Hayes You know how they say, 'don't struggle in quicksand for fear of sinking faster.' Well in the case of having writer's block: struggle--keep slogging forward and you'll make it out... maybe not in one piece, but you will survive.
