When I have a particularly bad case of writers' block, I stand up, get another cup of coffee, stare out at the sky, or take a walk, and then when I come back to it, my brain is buzzing with new ideas. Peppermint tea works wonders to open up your head space to let the creative juices flow.

Pulling ideas, settings and characters from your own imagination to create an entire story that's uniquely yours. That gives me a thrill of excitement and pride just thinking about it!

Don't give up - NEVER give up. We all have a story inside of us, and if you've always wanted to read something that doesn't yet exist, write it! Putting words to a page is the easy and fun part after all, you're accessing a highly intuitive, creative side of your own brain/imagination, and that's exciting! It took me five whole years to write After Midnight, and most of that was because I changed the idea so many times. There were so many times when I wanted to throw in the towel, but don't do that!

Right now, I'm working on a Prequel to After Midnight (title unknown yet) AND a sequel so, I have my hands full!

Good question! It can be difficult sometimes, because I work from home, and have two very small guard-dogs who bark at anything, so I typically sit down with a cup of coffee or tea at the kitchen counter, pull up my current story, and read from page 1 to where I stopped. That was my method for After Midnight, and it worked really well, because it allowed me to get back into the flow of the novel, and pick up the characters, the particular scene I was working on, and the tone of voice. Pandora is also a good motivator for me, especially when it's set to a radio station like The Piano Guys or Lindsey Sterling.

I've always been fascinated with Greek Mythology, and in particular, Hades & Persephone! I had a personal experience three years ago, where my beliefs were tested, and it's because of this that I really wanted to explore the world of the gods; get to know who they are in literature, and what literature hadn't said about them yet.
