Victor Marrow Guilt, shame, anxiety, or that nagging feeling either of a story that aches to be finally put to electronic paper. Sometimes what I write is either not what I intended or it later spawns the better concept. Very particular music is helpful as is some films with concepts that really stir my thought process.
Victor Marrow There is a science and art to writing. The advice, you'll see, is somewhat consistent on some of the technical features of books that flow well and carry readers. The art, is up to you, on how you'd like to connect the soul of your idea into the body of the plot. Also, every rule you are taught we can point to twenty writers who broke that rule, based on their passionate focus, and did quite fine. Keep crawling in the dark, we need you.
Victor Marrow Taking something abstract and building a world, home, and entire universe where there was once nothing. Giving anyone who ever takes their sacred time, to read my work, and for them to find any joy, fear, or connection to it. Toying with concepts that might be horrific in real life, but can be examined in the fictional world for reflective moments.
Victor Marrow Sometimes I push through and force myself to write so I can find the inspiration from cutting away the fat of that waste. Other times I step back, tend to other parts of my life, and slowly the idea will haunt me. When I return usually my writing has more momentum.
Victor Marrow Came across a disturbing news article and married it with a darker conspiracy within. She, the main character, did the rest for me.
Victor Marrow A journey through the forbidden and condemned. A series of cases worked by an investigator probing the fingertips of night.
Victor Marrow Any of Clive Barker's worlds, especially the advanced Hell in Scarlet Gospels where Lucifer had committed suicide. I would explore what this forbidden landscape contains. Maybe some type of tropical garden of Eden world (Lord of Flies, The Beach) and explore the unknown (escaping before the downfalls within each plot).
Victor Marrow Tales from the Gas Station Volume 1, The Cabin at the End of the World, The Plague (re reading it).
Victor Marrow The blood covered the toilet beneath me. It was then I realized the screams inside me would soon be overcome by the shrieks at my funeral.
