Any of Clive Barker's worlds, especially the advanced Hell in Scarlet Gospels where Lucifer had committed suicide. I would explore what this forbidden landscape contains. Maybe some type of tropical garden of Eden world (Lord of Flies, The Beach) and explore the unknown (escaping before the downfalls within each plot).
