I would have to say my favorite thing about being a writer is building new worlds while sitting at home with a cat asleep on my desk. There can be so much going on on the pages I am writing, great battles, terrible deeds, fantastical magic...but that cat is still just calmly sleeping away, dreaming cat dreams, and keeping me company.

I am working my way through the next book in The Ending Balance Chronicles, Steelskin. I'm on my first draft and am very excited by where the story is headed.

Writer's block is a great beastly dragon that we all have to fight some days. I think the most helpful thing I have learned about it is that some days the fight will be too bloody and my side will take heavy causalities, so on those days, it is best to walk away. Obviously that can't be my answer every day that I am faced with writers block, so on the days where I know I can still fight the good fight, I write. Even if I know I will have to rewrite every single word I put down on a better day, getting some words on the page is triumph enough.
