The idea of the whole story came to me one day through the character Sheikha. Sheikha in the United Arab Emirates is a girl’s name and is also used for “female royalty”. As for the idea, it exists in almost every culture in the world. Once a young woman reaches a marriagable age everyone around her expects her to get married and they ask why is she still single if she’s not married. So I thought it would be fun to write such a novel.
