There was the little matter of the Glen Ewin haunting. Many strange and terrifying events over the course of many years that were unexplainable. My teenage years were shadowed by something dark

I get my inspiration from the real world, from the people I have encountered and things that I have experienced. In saying this my stories and characters are not based on anyone implicitly, rather each character has a combination of nuances and behaviours that come from a plethora of people whom I have been fortunate enough to meet, and in all honesty the majority of it is made up. I do like to keep a little life experience in the story but it is not in a way that is specific to any person in particular. Once again my imagination has the reins when it comes to the storyline.

Gee this is always a tough question. I feel like writers block happens for me when I am tense and uptight. Creativity needs a channel to flow through and if you aren't relaxed writing may become more difficult. I am a night owl so writing for me generally happens in the wee hours. I like to take a nice shower or bath, enjoy a glass of wine and some chocolate, and generally spoil myself to get me in the mood to write. When I'm clean and relaxed I find the words come much easier and I can get a good chunk of the story down before I retire for the night.

There a a couple of great things about being a writer. The first is you get to create something magical, stories that come from the purest part of your intellect and that is your imagination. The second great thing about writing is that you get to bare a bit of your soul with the rest of the world. When we write we put a lot of ourselves (knowingly or unknowingly) into the works. Its a way of connecting with readers and to share a part of yourself that others can related to and identify with.

Write, write, write. When you can, when you feel like it. Even when you don't feel like it. Get your ideas down on paper and get them organised. Remember you can always change your story, rearrange your ideas and add new elements. But above all else, write.

I am always inspired to write! There is always some segment of my story running around in my head transforming itself into the right idea at which point I'll happily sit down with a glass of wine and get it down.
